The Tallahassee Amateur Radio Society (TARS) is a general interest radio club with membership from the greater Tallahassee, Florida area, and many other areas in and around Florida's Big Bend.
TARS Membership is open to all licensed amateur radio operators. Students at any level can join for free. TARS is also affiliated with the American Radio Relay League (ARRL), the national association of Amateur Radio operators.
TARS is active in local public safety communications, including the Spaghetti 100 bike ride, and The Veterans' Day 5K Walk/Run. Other activities include annual Field Day and Winter Field Day emergency communications exercises, an Amateur Radio equipment auction, and maintaining several repeater stations which serve amateurs in Leon County.
The club regularly conducts free license testing (although the FCC charges $35) under the ARRL Volunteer Examiner program.
Please visit the TARS web site for additional information.
The TARS name badge measures approximately 2" x 3 1/4".
Other fastener options are available, including the popular MEGA-Strong Magnetic Bar. Fasteners may be viewed in the list to the right.
